We interviewed people attending the TS²* – The Trade Show About Trade Shows® in Chicago to find out their expectations and goals when attending an event. Watch this video to hear for yourself what they told us.

    Attendees expect exhibit staff to:
  • Make visitors feel welcome in the booth
  • Show interest in being in the booth and in each visitor
  • Ask questions and listen carefully to each person's specific needs before responding
  • Be knowledgeable about the products and services
  • Provide specific steps to follow up after the event
    Attendees are turned off when exhibit staff:
  • Talks on the phone or stands in a group talking while a visitor approaches the booth
  • Launches into a sales pitch or a demo before finding out about the visitor's interests
  • Doesn't listen
  • Stays on their own agenda instead of focusing on the visitor's concerns
  • Uses aggressive sales tactics
